🌲 North Carolina · Major markets

3 major markets across North Carolina.

We've moved into Charlotte's pre-war duplexes, Raleigh's North Hills high-rises, and Durham's converted tobacco warehouses. The crew knows which buildings have a freight elevator and which want you on the service stairs, which streets allow a 26-footer and which need a 16. North Carolina moves come with their own rhythm and we know it.

Suburbs & surrounding cities

35 North Carolina cities we also serve.

Same crew standard, same Show-Up Guarantee, and the same rate as the metro each one sits in. If your address is anywhere in our coverage area, we've done a move there.

Moving this week?

We keep last-minute crews on the schedule in every major North Carolina market. Same-day and next-day are often available.

North Carolina moving guide

What a move in North Carolina actually involves.

When to move in North Carolina

Demand across the Triangle and Charlotte peaks twice. The larger wave runs May through August, when corporate relocations land and the Research Triangle hiring cycle turns over. The sharper one is the last week of August, when UNC, NC State, Duke, and Davidson all move students in within a few days of each other, and every truck rental and elevator reservation in Chapel Hill, Raleigh, and Durham gets spoken for at once. The last three days of any month book out first year round, because that is when most leases end. If your dates are flexible, a weekday in the middle of the month is the easiest slot to get and the one where we can usually offer a wider arrival window. If they are not flexible, book the August and month-end dates two to three weeks ahead. We hold same-week availability in Charlotte, Raleigh, and Durham throughout the year, and same-day is often possible outside those peak windows.

Buildings, parking, and access

Charlotte's Uptown and South End towers run on paperwork. Most want a Certificate of Insurance on file before move day and a reserved freight elevator, and several enforce a two-hour loading dock window that starts whether the crew is inside or circling the block. Raleigh's North Hills and Glenwood South buildings work the same way. Durham's converted tobacco warehouses in American Tobacco and Golden Belt often have a single service elevator shared by the whole building, so timing matters more than crew size. The older housing stock is a different problem: the 1920s duplexes in Dilworth and Myers Park, the bungalows in Five Points, and the Trinity Park houses in Durham have narrow original staircases and tight landings that decide what furniture goes up whole and what comes apart. Out in Cary, Apex, Huntersville, and Concord the driveways are wide and the access is easy, but the HOA may still want notice. Tell us the building name when you book and we handle the COI and the elevator.

What drives the price

Pricing is by metro rather than by suburb, so a move in Apex is priced like a Raleigh move and one in Concord like a Charlotte move. You are not charged extra for being outside city limits. What actually moves the number is crew size, how long the job runs, and the walk. Stairs cost more time than square footage does, and so does a long carry from a loading dock or a street parking spot to the door, which is why an Uptown high-rise with a reserved elevator can go faster than a two-story walk-up in a quieter neighborhood. Volume matters less than access. We quote a flat rate before move day rather than an open hourly meter, it takes $5 to reserve the date, and you pay after the crew finishes. Because we are labor-only, the truck is yours to rent, which is the single largest reason a North Carolina move with us lands below a full-service quote.

North Carolina questions

Which North Carolina cities do you serve?+

Top markets: Charlotte, Raleigh, and Durham. Plus 20+ suburbs and surrounding cities are Apex, Cary, Chapel Hill, Concord, Davidson, Fuquay-Varina, Holly Springs, Huntersville, Knightdale, Matthews, Mooresville, Wake Forest, and more. If your address is anywhere in the Charlotte, Raleigh, or Durham metros, we cover it.

Do you charge more for suburbs vs. the main cities?+

Rates are by metro, not by individual suburb. Apex pricing matches Raleigh pricing. Concord matches Charlotte. You don't pay extra for being outside city limits.

Do you bring a truck?+

No. We're labor-only, which means you supply the truck, the container, or the pods and we supply the crew that loads and unloads them. It is the main reason our pricing lands below full-service movers. If you'd rather not arrange the rental yourself, we can book a U-Haul on your behalf when you reserve your date.

I'm moving within North Carolina, Charlotte to Raleigh, for example. Can you help?+

We're labor-only, so we don't drive long-distance. For intercity moves you'd rent the truck. We can load you in Charlotte and our Raleigh crew can unload at the destination; call (864) 256-1166 and we'll coordinate.

Can you handle high-rise buildings and COI requirements?+

Yes, and it's routine in Uptown, South End, North Hills, and downtown Durham. Tell us the building name and management company when you book and we email the Certificate of Insurance to them directly. If your building requires a reserved freight elevator or a specific loading dock window, give us that too and the crew plans the job around it.

How fast can you book a move in North Carolina?+

Same-week booking is available in Charlotte, Raleigh, and Durham. Same-day is sometimes available depending on the date; submit a quote and we'll confirm.

Moving out of North Carolina?

We're labor-only, so we don't drive between states. For a move out of North Carolina you rent the truck, our crew loads it here, and a crew in the destination state unloads it there. Call (864) 256-1166 and we'll book both ends.
