When to move in Florida
Florida inverts the pattern we see in the Carolinas. The inbound relocation wave runs heaviest from late fall through spring, when people arriving from out of state schedule around the weather rather than a school calendar, and a larger share of our Florida customers are moving into the state rather than across town. Summer stays busy with local moves and adds two complications: afternoon thunderstorms that arrive on a near-daily schedule, and heat that makes an early start worth asking for. Hurricane season runs June through November, and while a named storm rarely changes a move date, it does empty the truck rental supply for several days in the affected metro, so a move booked in that window benefits from a backup date. Condo and HOA calendars matter more than any of this. Many Tampa and Orlando buildings only permit move-ins on weekdays during business hours, which removes the weekend option entirely and makes booking ahead the deciding factor.
