Moving in Tulsa: an easy grid with a few historic exceptions
Tulsa is one of the easier cities we work in. The street grid is wide and regular, most of the city is single-family houses with driveways, and the suburbs that are growing fastest, Broken Arrow, Jenks, Bixby, and Owasso, are newer construction with room to park a 26-foot truck at the door. Rents are low for a city this size, so many Tulsa moves are larger homes rather than studios, and a three-person crew often makes more sense than two.
The exceptions are Midtown and downtown. Maple Ridge, Swan Lake, and the Cherry Street and Brookside blocks are 1920s neighborhoods with alley garages, narrow drives, and heavy tree canopy, so a smaller truck and one extra set of hands usually beat a big truck parked half a block away. Downtown's Deco, Blue Dome, and Arts District lofts are conversions of the same era: tight elevators, small staging areas, and building managers who want notice.
Weather is the other planning factor. Severe-storm season peaks from late April into early June, and we reschedule storm days without penalty, so book spring moves with a day of flexibility. Ice days in January and February are rare but shut the city down when they come. University of Tulsa and Oral Roberts move-ins cluster in mid-August and barely dent citywide availability, and the American Airlines maintenance base and Saint Francis keep a steady, unseasonal flow of relocations. Off-peak, from October through March, weekday moves are usually bookable within the week.

Is there anything your movers won't move?
Especially heavy or bulky safes and pianos are best left to movers who specialize in those items. Keyboards, obviously, aren't an issue. Gun safes and firearms are best left to you. Contractually, our movers won't touch them.
