Moving in Fort Worth: Sundance Square towers, Fairmount bungalows, and everything north of Alliance
Fort Worth is a big city in its own right, not a Dallas suburb, and its moves split three ways. Downtown and West 7th are apartment towers and Sundance Square condos that need a Certificate of Insurance, a reserved loading zone, and a freight-elevator window, and West 7th's garages are tight for a 26-foot truck, so confirm clearance before you book the rental. The Near Southside, Fairmount, and Magnolia Avenue are the opposite: historic bungalows on narrow streets with alley access and no driveways, where a 20-foot truck and a morning start are the practical limits. The TCU and University neighborhoods turn over in mid-August, and the blocks between campus and Berry Street are busiest that week.
The north is where the growth is. The Alliance corridor along I-35W, Keller, and the newer subdivisions around Presidio and Heritage are HOA communities with easy truck access, long carries, and move-hour rules written into the covenants, so check yours and tell us. I-35W construction has been a constant for years, and the stretch through downtown is slow from 7 to 9am and 4 to 7pm, which is why cross-town moves from Alliance to the Southside are best started early. Arlington and Grapevine are part of the same service area; on Cowboys or Rangers game days, Arlington's stadium district is a place to avoid with a truck.
Two events shape the winter. The Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo runs most of January into February and fills the Cultural District and Will Rogers area, so moves near Camp Bowie and Montgomery Street go earlier in the day those weeks. The Stockyards draw crowds every Friday and Saturday, and North Main is not a place to stage a truck on a weekend. Summer heat is the rest of the story: June through August we start the biggest moves at 7am and keep the crew hydrated, and morning slots go first.

Is there anything your movers won't move?

Yes. For the Stock Show weeks we schedule Cultural District moves for early morning before Will Rogers fills. For Cowboys and Rangers home games we avoid Arlington's stadium district during the event window and move earlier or the next day.
How quickly can you schedule a move?
Three to five days' notice covers most of the year. The week before TCU classes in mid-August and the last weekends of June and July fill two to three weeks out. Off-peak weekdays are often available within the week.
Can I cancel or reschedule my move?
Yes. Cancellation is free 48 hours before your move, and rescheduling costs nothing with the same notice. The $5 reservation simply holds your date; you pay for the move after it happens.
